1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect

• Information you give us. If you write to us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to put in the message.
• Technical information. Our servers record standard request data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you viewed and when.
• Measurement information. Cookies and similar technologies used for analytics and for attributing referrals to the correct advertising campaign.

We do not collect payment card details, because we do not sell anything. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.

3. Why we use it

• To operate, secure and improve the website.
• To answer your messages and keep a record of correspondence.
• To measure which articles are read and how visitors arrive, so we can publish better ones.
• To attribute referrals to advertising partners so that our commercial arrangements can be settled correctly.
• To comply with legal obligations and to detect and prevent abuse or fraud.

4. Cookies and referral tracking

When you follow an outbound link from one of our advertorials, a randomly generated click identifier and a site identifier are appended to the destination address. These identify the campaign, not you. They allow the merchant to tell our advertising partner that a referral came from this site so the referral fee can be attributed. They do not carry your name, your email address, or anything you have typed on this site.

Analytics cookies help us count visits and understand which sections are read. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work, and some measurement will simply stop.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host the site, deliver our email, or provide analytics, acting on our instructions.
• Advertising partners, in the aggregated, non-identifying form described above.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.

When you click through to a merchant you leave this site, and anything you do there is governed by that merchant's own privacy policy. We have no visibility of your order, your account, or your payment details.

6. How long we keep it

Correspondence is retained for up to twenty-four months after the matter is closed. Server logs are retained for up to twelve months. Aggregated analytics that cannot identify an individual may be kept indefinitely. Anything we no longer have a reason to hold is deleted.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Residents of California may also request details of any disclosure of personal information and opt out of its sale — we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@dermalstories.com with “Data request” in the subject line. We will respond within the period required by the applicable law, and we may need to verify your identity first. Exercising a right will never cost you anything or result in worse treatment.

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to correspondence is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the limited information we hold.

9. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data there or elsewhere. Where information is transferred out of your home jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards permitted under the applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged prominently on the site.
